What is Sage Intacct and What is Sage X3?

Sage X3 was purchased by Sage in 2005 and is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) product aimed at established businesses. The product was previously called Adonix X3 and was rebranded as Sage ERP X3 and later Sage X3. The product has won awards and was named as a product leader in ERP by Nucleus Research.

Sage Intacct was developed in the USA as a Cloud-based Financial Management solution and is now available in the US, UK, Canada, South Africa and Australia and across the globe. The software was initially developed by Intacct Corporation in 1999 and it was acquired by Sage in 2017 for $850 million. Sage Intacct has won many awards and very positive reviews.

Costs for Sage X3 are significantly higher than Sage Intacct, but you do get all the modules with the initial purchase, whereas with Sage Intacct you start off with Core Financials and you can purchase additional modules as and when you need it.

The costs of implementing Sage X3 is also significantly higher than Intacct and implementation times are considerably longer. A typical installation can be anywhere from £50k for small sites up to £130k plus for larger sites. Intacct is much better value for a straightforward implementation.
